Scope of Practice
Dr. Isaacson practices the full scope of family medicine, both in the clinic and in the hospital, taking care of patients from birth until older age, including prenatal care, annual exams, well child exams, vaccine counseling, routine cancer screening, and Pap smears.
Chronic Disease
Chronic conditions he manages includes asthma, eczema, acne, PCOS, COPD/emphysema, tobacco use disorder, type 2 diabetes, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, PCOS, osteoarthritis, gout, IBS, anemia, dementia, migraines, contraception, menopause, hypothyroidism, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, alcohol use disorder, and opioid use disorder, among other things.
Acute Disease
In addition to chronic disease management he treats acute illnesses in the office such as colds, sore throats, pink eye, pneumonia, rashes, and stomach bugs, as well as provides care to his patients that are hospitalized at RCH.
Procedures
Some of the procedures he performs in the office include vasectomies, skin biopsies, skin lesion removals (moles, skin tags, etc.), IUD insertion/removal, Nexplanon insertion/removal, and ingrown nail removal.
OMT
He also performs OMT (Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine), a combination of techniques similar to those used by massage therapists, physical therapists, and chiropractors, for patients with multiple conditions including headaches, neck pain, back pain, and hip/pelvis pain.
About
Dr. Isaacson was born and raised in Aurora, IL and is excited to be serving the community of Rochelle. He is married and has four young children and a golden retriever. In his free time he enjoys cheering for the Chicago Bears and Bulls, running, reading, camping, and traveling to the National Parks with his family.
