Some people who suffer from chronic non-healing wounds, which are defined as wounds that do not improve after four weeks or do not heal in eight weeks, require advanced wound care. There are many reasons why chronic non-healing wounds may occur, such as different types of ulcers, arterial wounds or radiation-induced soft tissue damage. In addition to the discomfort from these wounds, there is a risk for infection.

OSF HealthCare Wound Healing Now Available at RCH 

Leslie Edgcomb, M.D., the medical director for OSF HealthCare Wound Healing Center in Rockford, is now seeing patients at the Multi-Specialty Clinic every other Tuesday. Dr. Edgcomb has 20 years of wound care and hyperbaric medicine experience and is a certified wound specialist. Edgcomb is board certified in vascular surgery and general surgery. He specializes in treating a variety of chronic non-healing wounds.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our Multi-Specialty Clinic staff where they will collect your photo ID and insurance information. A nurse will collect your history and vital signs. You will then meet with Dr. Edgcomb to talk about your diagnosis and treatment options.
