August High Performer is Kara Van Hise, RN
Congratulations to Kara Van Hise, RN who has been named High Performer for August! Kara is the Clinical Educator and has been employed at RCH for two years.
“Kara is most deserving of this award because of the impact she has made here at RCH through her Clinical Educator position. She started as an RN here on Medical/Surgical but when the Educator spot opened she expressed interest and she is a great fit! She consistently goes above and beyond her current responsibilities to make sure the appropriate education is offered here at RCH. Kara has worked with departments like Laboratory, Surgery and Environmental Services to make sure their staff receives the needed training they request. After conducting a “Code Blue” drill in the basement, she brought to light the need for an AED unit by the cafeteria and physical therapy. She also determined that CPR training should be offered regularly for non-clinical staff. Kara has implemented a more frequent schedule of required code drills to make sure we are ready here at RCH for all emergencies. Kara has also stepped up by adding more to her busy schedule when asked by Occupational Health to provide CPR for the community at R.T.H.S and Ryder. This year with her reminders and persistence we surpassed our HealthStream employee education goal of 85% completion with 98.1%. We are lucky to have her at RCH and appreciate what an asset she is to our organization.”
